The Action of Alcohol Extract of Rheum Undulatum Linne on the Isolated Rat Stomach and Intestine Strip

Abstract
|
|
|
The effect of alcohol extract of Rheum undulatum Radix on the movement of isolated rat stomach and intestine strip suspended in Tyrode´s solution were observed by the Magnus method.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. The movement of isolated rat stomach and intestine strip were not influenced in the concentration of 10-4 and 5 x 10-4 gm/ml of alcohol extract of Rheum undulatum Radix.
2. The blocking effects were observed on the motolity of isolated rat stomach and intestine strip in the concentration of 10-4 gm/ml alcohol extract of Rheum with the concentration of 10-6 Rheum Undulatum Radix treated gm/ml of acetylcholine or 10-4 gm/ml of pilocarpine.
